Progressive Postnatal Recovery...Selfcare Techniques & Exercises for Postpartum Women

"Progressive Postnatal Recovery" DVD provides information and exercises that postnatal women can use to help speed their recovery. The video features topics that are specific to postpartum women, such as back pain, pelvic floor weakness and incontinence, joint misalignment, pelvic pain, nursing discomfort and depression. Each topic section gives warning signs and symptoms along with techniques and exercises to help alleviate and even prevent some conditions.

The DVD was developed by Catherine Cram, MS and Hollis Herman, MS, PT, OCS. Catherine has worked as an exercise physiologist in the field of maternal exercise for the past ten years. She has consulted on several maternal exercise DVDs and articles on maternal fitness, and frequently speaks at health/medical conferences. Hollis Herman is a physical therapist with over 20 years experience practicing in women's health. She is a recognized expert in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology, is the co-author of the text "How to Raise Children Without Breaking Your Back" and the author of numerous articles and book chapters on pre-and postnatal care.

We feel the most important benefit of this DVD is to give new mothers the confidence to ask for help if they need it, and understand that their health and well being is crucial in being able to best care for their baby. Taking an active part in their recovery will help them get back to normal more quickly, and allow them to fully participate in and enjoy their new role as a mother.
